Roel Dieltjens / DJ Roel

In the mid 80s, at the age of 14, Roel Dieltjens started playing records at local parties. Caught by electronic music he spinned a mixture of new-wave, italo, early house and later on 'AB music' and new-beat. At that time he also produced mix-tapes for an underground mix-service. In the early 90s he got his first gigs at known house parties, raves and clubs (Techno Phobia, Bonzai parties, Dream Zone, X-Mas Rave, City Parade, ...) under the alias 'DJ Rule'. From the late 90s he picked up his studio/mix/tape work again and produced megamixes for radiostations like ID&T Radio and Top Radio. In 2001 and 2003 he played a 10 hour set at the Belgian float at the Love Parade in Berlin. Today he's still a passionate vinyl record addict spinning classic-house/retro DJ sets. Since 2019 he's the co-founder of the 'This Was Belgium' party concept that brings the best Belgian club music from the late 80s and early 90s. Info & bookings: [email protected]
