Proud to be from Amsterdam “the city of freedom”, DJ Hero de Janeiro kicked-off his career in New York ( 94-99 ) in his early 20s shortly after discovering his passion for DJ-ing. While living in New York for over 5 years, Hero became one of the top underground DJ’s being called as “the Dutch Master” & “the DJ that knows how to play the crowd”. He performed in legendary clubs including Limelight, Tunnel, Roxy, Life, Baktun and Twilo and was wanted in New York’s fashion scene. He played for several designers such as Nautica, Betsey Johnson, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. Hero was closely involved with the rise of the lounge culture in New York. He played in famous lounges including Jet-Lounge, Spy bar and the Wax. Back in Amsterdam he played 19 years for the famous Supperclub. Hero is also involved in the street art scene .
