DEREK"TheBandit", an acclaimed radio host, graced the airwaves of South Africa's 5FM for an impressive 16 years before transitioning to MIX 93.8FM for an additional four years. Under the alias “TheBandit”, he released 23 hit commercial dance compilations, working with top record labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Virgin, and EMI Music. Derek has shared the stage with music industry luminaries like Paul Van Dyk and Carl Cox at multiple events. In 2005, Derek launched www.Soundrepublic.co.za, connecting people to cutting-edge podcasts. He also introduced www.DataBass.co.za, a 24-hour streaming app that played top-notch electronic music mixes for three years. Today, Derek curates a mix named "MixedBag" on MixCloud.
